1929 - 2010

JACKIE B. PRUITT, 81 of Burkeville, Texas died on Nov. 26, 2010 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Jackie was born on Jan. 3, 1929 in Bangs, Texas and had lived in Burkeville for the past 15 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a retired sales and service consultant on all electrical machinery.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Pruitt of Burkeville, daughter, Marylyn Barker and husband, Rex of Garland, Texas, son, Jack B. Pruitt of Terrell, Texas, step-son, Eddie Lobb and wife, Karyn of Newton and grandchildren, David Duffer and Lauralyn Barker.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Six Mile Baptist Church in Sabine County with burial to follow at the Burkeville Cemetery.
